Prison of Rancagua, Chile: About what happened to the anarchist and subversive prisoners last Thursday

At around noon on Thursday, October 21, there was a violent attack by prison guards – more than 50 – with the aim of tyrannizing the prisoners – less than 20 – who were in the courtyard at the time in section 1 of the maximum security of the Rancagua prison. It is in 
this context that, along with an equal number of social prisoners, the comrades of the section confronted the cops’ arrogance and stood up to the executioners’ orders, refusing to obey in order to protect their unshakable dignity.
Perhaps we should explain that the usual modus operandi of the prison administration in this prison is to try to bend and break the will of the individual, ordering prisoners to perform degrading acts such as putting their hands behind their backs, standing face to the wall, or doing squats, forms of submission that are constantly refused by the imprisoned anarchist and subversive comrades because they understand well the importance of the right to freedom of expression. There is no textbook that explains this analysis, it is their own conscience and ability to learn from the mistakes of each of our comrades that has led them to choose this path. It is also logical that this kind of response from our comrades leaves the prison guards with a bitter taste in their mouth, which often culminates in violence… This was one of those cases.
Athens, Greece: Molotov attack against the General Secretariat of Information Systems (ΚΕΠΥΟ) by Anarchists
Greek Press (Ekathimerini),21 October – Anarchists claimed responsibility on Indymedia Athens for the arson attack on the General Secretariat of Information Systems in Moschato, near Piraeus, south of Athens, on 10 October.
One of the aims of the group was to show solidarity with the 14 comrades arrested or under surveillance on the basis of their DNA. Around seven Molotovs were thrown in all, affecting both the car parking lot and the building housing the Greek government’s offices and data centre hosting all the data on its official website (gov.gr).

In the early summer of 2021, Higueras (the fig trees), a squat in the Madrid neighbourhood of Tetuán, underwent the siege of a company that specializes in squat evictions. In the Spanish state many security companies sell their eviction services in a not exactly legal way but with the State’s complicity. Higueras managed to overcome this first siege, but a legal procedure is in progress. In the Spanish territory, evictions of housing, whether by cops or security guards, are often met with some resistance, which involves a gathering in front of the house with more or less tension, which attracts the media. Indeed, squatting is a favorite subject of the media and politicians there, much more than in France. Other forms of resistance exist: demonstrations in response, sabotage or symbolic occupations.
A few people have written a text giving their vision and some ideas on the forms that solidarity could take. Despite the difference in context, this text could enrich reflection and action as the police, thugs, landlords and media attack our homes and our spaces.

Resistance to squat and rental evictions tends to be a struggle in which those resisting and those in solidarity don’t have the initiative. First of all, for many evictions we don’t even know on what day the repressive forces will appear. If you are dealing with thugs, the vagueness can be even greater. In any case, wearing down can weaken the resistance, and the state as well as the owners know this. In the first few days, when the eviction alert is issued, the solidarity response is powerful in numbers, but unsurprisingly forces diminish after a few days. Moreover, most evictions take place in the morning, when many people are at work or in class. This is also why there are fewer comrades available.

At around 8.30pm on Sunday 17 October, a small group of individuals destroyed a video surveillance camera at the corner of the rue de la Forge and rue Saint-Exupéry.
A video, which has since been circulating on WhatsApp in particular, (…) shows a group of people, wearing hoods, attacking the pole, using a disc cutter. In less than two minutes, the pole falls to the ground. The camera is then destroyed. The police did not have time to arrest the individuals.

The ransacking of eleven buses took place in the storage depot of a subcontractor of Nîmes Métropole public transport located in Mas de Cheylon. “It is an act of vandalism. Windows have been broken and seats slashed. The eleven vehicles are inoperative. Eight coaches are involved,” explains Ludovic Martin, general manager of Tango-Transdev.

Last Friday night was probably one of the best nights of the year. While earlier the eviction of the Köpi-Wagenplatz by a huge amount of cops had caused a feeling of helplessness, the night was quite the opposite.
Several thousand people took to the streets of Kreuzberg and expressed their anger in a self-determined way. Everything went well; the cops couldn’t get their lines in place, wild demonstrations broke out on all sides, the cops and their cars were overwhelmed, property managers, trendy cafes and hotels took their toll.

October 29 marked one week from the night when three different groups of DIAS cops on bikes chased then shot more than 35 bullets at some people inside a car that did not stop at a “signal”. The chase ended in Perama where bullets from 7 different service weapons wounded one and killed another of the guys in the car. 7 cops shooting at three unarmed minors in cold blood. Nikos Sabanis, 18 years old, was killed by state fire. In their declarations they identify the suspects as Roma and inform the centre that they have no wounded. The nation is informed that 6 police officers are in hospital and of course that they had no intention to kill or knowledge of the suspects’ identity. The infamous Kougias solicitor takes on the killers and the interrogator decides that it is not necessary to keep them in custody.
We are still watching the same play 13 years after the murder of Alexis Grigoropoulos by cops Korkoneas – Saraliotis who continue to walk in our midst. In fact, the state apparatus and the fascists of the far-right are trying to increase our consumability and strengthen their media narrative. Killing by cops in Athens like their counterparts in America and the statements by ruling fascists about defence from the side of the killers are signs of the times and as such we take note of them.
We for our part, the oppressed, exploited, struggling, rebellious must take action while capital, states and fascists are arming themselves. As a minimal gesture to denounce this state murder in Greece we put up a banner on the opening day of the tattoo circus in Barcelona. This event is organized to provide material support for political prisoners and to strengthen the solidarity movement.

On COP26
Between the 31st of October and the 12th of November, representatives of state and capital are going to descend upon Glasgow in the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference(COP26). If we look at previous and historical UN attempts to “tackle” climate change, all we can find is three decades of inaction and greenwashing. There is no evidence that COP26 will be any different; in fact, this conference seems to be reaching new heights of hypocrisy, smugness and arrogance.

In the early hours of Saturday 23/10/21, 7 bike cops were chasing a car they thought was stolen. In it were three young guys, which the cops recognized as roma. A bit later, there were 38 fire-shots, aimed not at the tires of the car (in their supposed attempt to stop it), but higher; in a clear attempt to injure/murder the passengers of the car. All shots were fired by the cops. The three young guys were unarmed. Nikos Sampanis, the 18-year-old co-driver was instantly killed, as he was hit with 2 bullets on the chest. A 16-year-old is injured and still in hospital and the 14-year-old driver ran away amidst gunfire. The cops were initially arrested and were charged with the felony of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter.
A few minutes after their *arrest*, Spyridon Georgiadis, Minister for Development and Investment, tweeted his congratulations to the murderous cops. The Citizen Protection Minister, Takis Theodorikakos, paid them a visit in jail. For “symbolic reasons” as he stated.

Solidarity with the four persecuted comrades for the eviction of Gare (Athens,Greece)
On September 29, the trial against two comrades from Berlin and two comrades from Athens will take place in Evelpidon Court in Athens. On November 26, 2017 the four persons were arrested during the eviction of Gare Squat, in the Athens district of Exarcheia. Among other charges, they are accused of trespassing, attempted serious bodily harm, refusal of forensic identification and possession of explosive materials and explosive bombs. This eviction was the first of three upcomings in which the four comrades were detained for 4 days. They were released on conditions or bail and now, almost four years later, have to appear in court. Almost one month after the arrest of the anarchist revolutionary Dimitris Chatzivasileiadis, who was for 1.5 years undeground, accused for being a member of the guerrila group “Revolutionary Selfdefense” and one of the four arrested during the eviction of Gare on November 2017.
Gare was a squatted house in Exarhia area, in the center of Athens. For many years was a living space actively going against private property and the establishment of a house as a commodity.Trying to promote a communal way of life in which terms like private were always questionable.
